A comparative analysis of major modes of transport by key criteria shows the particular importance of maritime transport in the world economy. The influence of heterogeneous factors that have a direct impact on freight transportation through maritime transport has been considered. The trend of increasing trans-shipment of cargo in seaports indicates the increasing importance of large transport hubs such as seaports, which makes their development as logistics centers relevant. As special software of logistics providers it is necessary to use tools of cloud technologies (blockchain, Internet of Things, etc.). The use of new telecommunication technologies will allow not only to bring to a new level the market of transport and logistics services, but also to have a positive impact on the efficiency of fleet management.
