The article considers the stages of forming views on the development of alternative energy sources. The issues of development of alternative energy at the present stage, the prospects of this type of generation and the problems that stand in the way of mass distribution of alternative energy sources are relevant. In the context of the widespread introduction of alternative energy sources into the modem life of mankind, the national systems of technical regulation created in many states play a stimulating role in the development of alternative energy. For an actively developing alternative energy based on renewable sources, which is an innovative branch of the economy, the development and approval of national standards in a rapidly changing world is necessary and can fulfill an ordering and stimulating mission.
