ABOUT THE NEGATIVE IMPACT OF THE HUMAN FACTOR ON THE SAFETY OF NAVIGATION

Abstract (English):
One ofthe most important tasks of modem navigation is to ensure a reliable level of ship safety and to preserve the lives of crew members. It is the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that focuses ship ping companies and ship personnel on solving this problem. At the same time, for various reasons, a significant number of accidents occur annually, as a result of which ships die or they fail for a long time, damage to the transported cargo is caused, sailors die. In the article, based on information about accidents on Russian ships, the authors made a constructive attempt to determine the role of the human factor on the safety of navigption, identified the dominant trends, proposed measures to eliminate existing problems.
