DATA OF THE SHIP'S INTELLIGENT OPTICAL SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING THE ELEMENTS OF THE NAVIGATIONAL SITUATION IN VIBRATION CONDITIONS
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The paper considers the effect of marine vessel’s vibration effects on the video stream recorded by an optical sensor. A metric for estimating the smoothness of a sequence of digital images is proposed. Based on experimental data, numerical characteristics of disturbances for video files captured when exposed to vibrations from the frequency spectrum characteristic of the navigation bridge of a marine vessel are obtained. The technique of increasing the smoothness of the video sequence by saving each n frame from the original set of images has been experimentally tested. The problem of mismatch of the generated parameters with the real-time scale when processing a video sequence in this way is considered. The technique of stabilizing the video sequence by developing vibration-compensating effects using the simple rolling mean method has been experimentally tested. A comparative characteristic of the effectiveness of the two approaches to improving smoothness is given. The effectiveness of the resulting effect of the sequential application of two techniques to the video file is evaluated. The application of the studied approaches in the processing of optical observation system data repeatedly reduces the impact of vibration disturbances on the video
